Runear Location Terms (Korea)
Effective: October 15, 2026
These terms and this policy apply to users whose area is in Korea, as required by Korea's Act on the Protection, Use, etc. of Location Information. Korean users agree to them when they join or set their area to a Korean city/district. The Korean version is the official one.
1. Services
- Run recording: distance, pace and route from your device's GPS.
- Setting your area: found on the device; the coordinates are not sent to our server.
- Running now: your area and distance so far are shown to runners in the same area while you run.
- Public runs: if "Show my stats" is on, people who open your profile see your runs and routes (start and finish trimmed).
- Route sharing: routes you choose to share are shown to runners in your area (start and finish trimmed).
2. Age
You must be 14 or older. We check this when you join and do not collect location information from children under 14.
3. Retention
Routes are deleted immediately when you delete the run, the shared route, or your account. Records of when location information was collected, used or provided (no coordinates) are kept for 1 year, as the law requires, and then deleted.
4. Providing location information to others
Only as described in section 1. When you share a route, we show who will receive it and why, and confirm right after it is shared. We do not otherwise provide location information without your consent unless the law requires it.
5. Storage outside Korea
Service data, including location information, is stored on servers in the United States (Railway Corporation) until you delete your account.
6. Your rights
You can withdraw consent (by deleting your account), pause collection (turn off location access in your phone's settings), and ask to see or correct the records of how your location information was used or provided.
7. Location information officer
